Medicare rebates are available if you have a mental health care plan from your GP. You will be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $85.20 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. For convenience, Medicare rebates are processed straight after your appointment via Medicare's EasyClaim. Please bring your Medicare card and EFTPOS/Debit cards with you to your appointment.

Yes we do. Men & Family Counselling is not just a service for men. We provide counselling for women experiencing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders, childhood trauma, grief and loss, relationships problems and separation/divorce.
The information shared in session is private and confidential and Men & Family Counselling is committed to protecting client privacy. However, there are exceptions to this rule:
- if you are at risk of harm to yourself or others
- if there is evidence of harm or abuse to a child or older person
- if your records are subpoenaed by a court of law.
If any of these situations become relevant we will discuss this with you.
If you have a mental health care plan, Medicare requires progress reports to be provided to your GP outlining how you are going, treatment provided and whether you require further sessions. This is generally done at 6 and 10 sessions.
There may be also be occasions where you request information to be provided to other parties or health care providers on your behalf (i.e. employers, schools, and allied health care providers). In these situations, we require your written permission to release your information.
